View From a Hotel Window, 10/20/18: Salt Lake City

Well, it’s not the most inspiring view, but the room is lovely and the hotel is delightfully hipsterish.

Today: I’m at Weller Book Works! At 2pm! It’s a matinee showing! Please come see me do my thing.

Tomorrow: It’s Ft. Collins, Colorado, and I will be at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 7pm, hosted by Old Firehouse Books. Also please come see me do my thing here, and bring along everyone you’ve ever met.

How’s your weekend so far?

Too bad I live in LA. I would have been one of many standing in line to meet you. Weekend is good so far, thanks for asking. Enjoy your tour and be safe.

  2. Hotel or office building? You make the call.

Today is good here (NYC). About average for this time of year (low 60s), sunny and breezy. Still, it looks to be by far the best of the next seven to ten days, at least temperature-wise. Have fun.

  3. Missed you in San Fran.. Day late and and a couple bucks short but hope to catch you on the flip flop.
Weather is here in Nor Cal (Oregon Border Nor Cal) hope you are GREAT!

  4. Y U NO Vegas? Yes, I know this is in a FAQ. Yes, I’d rather just tell myself that you’re afraid of a hooker stealing your Rolex… Oh, hi John’s wifey!

  5. OMG just found out you coming to FoCo tomorrow night! Can’t wait to see you. I am a big fan and just have one request–write faster!

  6. My weekend so far has been enjoyable because I spent it finishing “The Consuming Fire!” I don’t usually finish a book within three days after I started it…really, it was over too fast!

  7. I was in Salt Lake today. I’m in Florida today. Headed out for SubVets convention on Holland America Niuw Amsterdam.

I read your new novel The Consuming Fire today. Yes, today. One of the perks of being retired. Makes me sad that I can read in a single day what takes you much of a year to create and bring to publication. But, don’t stop writing, okay? And thank you for personally inscribing my copy with “on the occasion of your retirement years move to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada!” Nicely done. Only I have news. I miss my forever friend Mary Nell. So I am moving back to Texas by October’s end. Just too lonely to stay here in Canada. But hey! I have lived in Canada for four months. Great experience. And your novel was wonderful to read today. Wonderful.

  9. I have really been looking forward to seeing you in Fort Collins tonight, but I’m going to keep my flu cooties at home. I will catch you on your next tour!

Pretty great weekend. I got to meet this amazing author who addressed us from a flight of stairs and answered questions and was funny and awesome and is pretty great on Twitter, and other places, and has the world´s most adorable cats (besides mine). One regret: meant to ask about Chris in Lock In and brain went to burritos. Ah, well. Safe travels!
