  1. That Willems title is a fable for our times. We all need to read it, and take it to heart. All of us.

  2. Elephant and Piggie!

John, it’s worth flipping through that book – the illustration at the end is gorgeous.

  3. Ted Chiang’s book “Exhalation” is a wonderful set of thought-provoking and challenging stories.

  4. I’m sort of staring at Kushiel’s Avatar going “But that book has been out already; I read it years ago?” (I mean, the Kushiel books are wonderful and I highly recommend them, but I do wonder why it appeared *now*.)

  5. Another major Ted Chiang fan here. ‘Stories of Your Life and Others’ completely knocked my socks off, and I can’t wait to get to ‘Exhalation’.

Also, Michael Ian Black. I’m not old enough to have had MTV on my radar, but I happened upon a beaten-up secondhand copy of ‘State by State with The State’ at a garage sale around 2003, and it made me laugh so hard I started rereading it every few months.

  6. I’m going to save time commenting on future new books posts and say if there’s a Subterranean Press book on the list, I want it.

  7. “Shapers of Worlds” looks good. Been a while since I dug into a decent ‘themed’ anthology, this sounds interesting.
