Thick or thin crust?
More correctly happy Pi day to a subset that puts months in front of days.
Pizza is the best pie there is. As a former NYer, I am obsessed. Thin, grandma, sicilian, etc. All good. I now have a pizza oven in my yard, get fresh milled flour, use sourdough starter and cold ferment for 3 days, wow it is just amazing. Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes for the sauce. Low moisture buffalo mozz. I could eat it every single day. So many ways: Pepperoni, sausage, sopressata, tuna and shallots, fresh garlic, marinated artichokes, hot honey, calabrian chiles, oh god stop me. I am insane. LOL.

I memorized π to 33 decimal places, as above, when I was about 8 years old. I think it had to do with my next door neighbor having received a birthday gift of a printout of π to 10,000 decimal places and we were trying to see which of us could remember more of it.

Only if you cut it into 3.14 slices.
Made pizza on Friday. Today (still 3/14 here) was pecan pie and shoo-fly pie. The pecan pie wasn’t mechanically stable, so we have started to eat it in random-shaped chunks of sugar overdose.
And if you cut it into 3x any power of 2, (6, 12, or 24 are easiest, but if your hand and eye are steady enough for 192, go for it) you are diagramming one of the steps in Archimedes’ method of computing pi, from which he argued but could not prove that pi must be irrational. (And cutting a pizza into 192 equal sized slices would certainly qualify as irrational).
The MIT Alumni Club of South Texas has several times had Pi Day gatherings at pizza parlors, though not last year or this year. (They have also brought in dessert from House of Pies.)

Pies are sweet and gooey desserts not bread topped with tomato sauce, cheese and greasy minced pork product!
All jokes aside, happy belated pie day.
I’ll be back with my family’s recipe for sweet potato pie, one that’s been widening waistlines for decades.
I saw somewhere recently that a pizza is a real time pie chart representing how much pizza is left. Enjoy!
As a Brit: Pizza is not pie. It features neither pastry nor mashed potatoes.
Well, I’m having some of this….and some apple pie. Just to be sure….
Was going to make pumpkin pi(e) per local request, but the market had hidden the pumpkin so successfully that I cried defeat and made apple pie instead. All of which is now gone, because like John, my husband likes pie.
Dangit. Now I’m hungry. And I’ve got a meeting before I can get lunch. OTOH, our pie choice for yesterday was Linzer Torte from the local Bavarian bakery, and I have that to look forward to…

Yup … I see at least one digit off in what I posted from what I’ve remembered for years up to 29 decimal places, and the last quartet is off.

Ah memory… I’m 66 now, and memorized that when I was 8, so my memory over a 58 year span is good for 88%, and my typing is good for 99% of what I remember! All is not lost… yet. :D

That 2 caught my eye, by chance – I become vague after 25 digits, myself.
Harold Wilson recites this, and more, to the Queen in Peter Morgan’s play “The Audience” (inspiration for “The Crown”) – and later resigns due to memory loss. One wonders how much trouble this is for the actors, beyond the task of learning all the other lines.
My 11th grade math class included 3 new fangled calculators and 1 slide rule. This was back when such imprecise slide rules required tables in the back of our textbooks. (such as the student uses in Have Space Suit, Will Travel)
I memorized the value of pi, never had to consult a table, because of a poster high in the classroom. I forget, but it went something like:
Tis an old project of mine,
a new value of pi to assign,
for 3 is easier, I find,
than 3.14159.
Hey, by changing the spelling of my search term, I found the original limerick:

I would fix it at 3
