I Was Going to Write a Piece on Politics Today But It Turned Out the Metaphor I Was Going to Use Needs Some Workshopping, So In the Meantime Here’s Charlie With Some Autumn Leaves

I suspect you’ll consider this a reasonable substitute for now.

And you’re welcome!

    More than acceptable!

She’s growing up to be a Mighty Dog….

  2. How about less politics? Some more Scifi discussion? I haven’t read Craig Alanson’s expeditionary force and find myself 3 books in.

    Just tired of politics…..

  3. I am not a follower of your blog, but my wife, Ruth, was. She told mr about what was in your blog. We both loved your Old Man’s War series and Red Shirts

Sadly, passed away Saturday night. Just wanted to thank for the work that has entertained us both.
    Best Wishes

  4. I’m trying to think of a clever metaphor for what Charlie in the Autumn Leaves represents, but I spent too much time today answering email and I’m out of creativity. But I’m sure there IS a clever metaphor out there somewhere.

  5. I have to agree with Richard Thomas above. I love Sci-Fi largely for the escapist aspect. Political discussions have the opposite effect.
But, hey! It’s your blog, I can filter..

  6. Folks, as a reminder, I’m not taking votes on the content of the blog. If I want to talk about politics I will.

    Tom Vallejos:

Good thoughts and sympathy to you. I’m glad my work could be something you shared with someone you loved so much.

  7. So I just came back to your blog after several months and had some things I wanted to ask after seeing your booster post but….that’s one damn majestic dog. I’ll wait awhile (or forget to get back on this)

  8. Dogs are fine. Cats are great. I too am enjoying Alanson’s series, though I keep being surprised at myself for enjoying it. I found out about him here! I also really like the new top header illustration of the house that’s shown up lately.

  9. As for a clever metaphor, (as nicoleandmaggie note above) perhaps “you are what you eat.” Obviously Charlie gets darn fine dog food: I mean, just look at that glossy coat and that body-mass index.

Meanwhile, some of us are better at ensuring our dog gets his proper medicine than at taking our own pils. But hey, with a little bit of self love, pills and food we may all find the confidence to stand boldly on the leaves.
