  1. The new Wayward Children by Seanan McGuire would be my first choice.

    Subterranean Press makes lovely editions!

  2. Waiting…and waiting and waiting for Lost in the Moment and Found. I’m quite the Seanan McGuire fan, both the the Wayward Children series and for the InCryptid series.

  3. I started “The Dabare Snake Launcher” this morning, having read about it here on “Whatever” on Nov. 1. I’m about 40% of the way through it, and I’m liking it. It’s challenging and interesting to read the portrayal of a society that is much more family-centric – in both the good and bad aspects of that – than America. What will the characters do next? I guess I’ll have to get back into it!

  4. Although it has a black cover with red letters, a design decision I object to, The Poppy War looks the most likely for me to acquire from this group. I’m interested in the traditional/SF/fantasy take on China.

  5. You had me at “Lonely Castle in the Mirror”. And enjoy Seanan McGuire, so will check this out. (Thanks for including “Angel Falls”. It does have a nice spine…)

  6. Poppy Wars books are not so much about traditional China, but more about the Chinese Revolution. There’s even a Long March in there.

It’s a great series, and it ends much better than in the actual Earth’s history.
